West Virginia : Administration

West Virginia is ranked 37th among the 50 states of United States and is located in Appalachian and Southeastern region of United States. It is the 35th state which was admitted to the union in 1863. West Virginia is divided into three branches the Legislative branch is known as the West Virginia Legislation responsible for writing, debating, passing or defeating the state legislation, a bicameral assembly composed of West Virginia House of Delegates, and the West Virginia Senate. The executive branch of West Virginia consists of Governor and lieutenant governor. The governor is elected on the same day the U.S. president is elected. The judicial authority of West Virginia consists of 31 circuit courts. The judges of circuit court are elected for eight year partisan term. The Supreme Court of Appeals is the highest court of West Virginia and is the busiest court of its type in the United States. The Supreme Court consists of 5-justices elected for a twelve year partisan term.

Department of Health and Human Services: The motive of the department is to promote and protect the health and safety of the people by carrying out quality services and programs in the best of their interests. The Department of Health and Human Services also works for the empowerment of most vulnerable people; providing them means of money, health care, food and other basic necessities of life. The department also works for women and child empowerment by carrying out programs that pertain to child care, prevention from abuse, neglect and disabilities.

Division of Natural Resources: The Department is responsible for ensuring the quality of life in the state of West Virginia by managing and protecting the natural resources like state parks, oil and gas mining, wildlife resources, water bodies and forests in order to sustain the natural beauty and heritage of the state for present and future generations.

Division of Tourism: The mission of the Division of Tourism is to promote the state as vacation destination to all visitors and hence strengthen the overall economy of the state.
