Fairmont : West Virginia

Fairmont is a city in Marion County and a county seat as well. The community is in the Eastern Standard time zone. Located on the Monongahela, Tygart and West Fork rivers, Fairmont covers a total area of 21.2 km² (8.2 mi²). 20.3 km² (7.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.4 mi²) of it (4.40%) is water. The city is about 18 miles southwest of Morgantown, and about 23 miles northeast of Clarksburg. Various nicknames like "The Friendly City" and the "The Home of the Original Pepperoni Roll" are given to Fairmont.
