Hot Spots The state West Virginia lies in the Appalachian and Southeastern region of United States. The state shares its border with Maryland on the eastside, Ohio on the northwest, and Virginia on the southeast.

Monongahela National Forest:
The 1400 sq miles forest includes wild caves, rivers and the highest peak in the state. Many adventurous sports like hacking and backpacking can be done at the 124 mile Allegheny Trail and a 75-mile Greenbrier River Trail awaits for cyclists. In addition to this the forest also has 900ft tall sandstone strata for climbers.
